Quick Start Guide:
Ten Steps to a Better Pour
Wash, assemble, cool, filter, and store. Follow the sequence each time for stable operation and consistent filtration.
01
Wash all components
Use warm, soapy water or the top rack of your dishwasher before first use.
02
Attach the adapter
Screw the Hands-Free Adapter securely onto the cooking-oil container.
03
Seat the funnel
Insert the funnel into the adapter and press firmly until fully seated.
04
Assemble the cone
Align the cone legs with the posts and let the cone rest in its intentionally loose fit.
05
Insert the filter
Place one pleated Lonestar Filter into the funnel and ensure it is properly seated.
06
Cool the oil
Allow cooking oil to cool to 100°F or below before filtering.
07
Pour slowly
Fill without overflowing and maintain a high oil level for best filtration performance.
08
Replace when needed
Use a new filter when drainage becomes slow. Heavy sediment may require stacked filters.
09
Filter regularly
Filtering after each use and avoiding scorched breading can help oil remain reusable.
10
Store properly
Keep filtered oil in a cool, dark area until your next frying event.

Filter Replacement:
Let the flow tell you.
Use one properly seated filter for typical cooking oil. Replace it when filtration becomes slow or residue buildup restricts the flow.
High-sediment oil: Start with two stacked filters. Remove the top filter when filtration slows.
